The Year of Tiger falls on February 14 (Valentine's Day). Here are two event celebrations for you and your family;
- Chinese New Year hosted by NFCA
- Date: 02/14/2010 Sunday Time: 05:30PM – 07:30PM
- Location: China Delight on 220 West Tennessee St. (850) 222-8898
- Ticket: NFCA and TSA member $7.00 per person, None Member: $12.00 per person
- Child sit on the high chair is free, but need to share with the parents
- NFCA family membership fee $20.00 per year
- NFCA single membership fee $10.00 per year
- Make check payable to NFCA
** Due to the
limited seating capacity, NFCA can only accommodate 120 people for this
event. Therefore, the reservation is on the first come first serve
basis.

Taiwanese Student Association at FSU (TSA) and Taiwanese
American Association of Tallahassee (TAA) will host the Year of Tiger
Celebration on February 20, 2010 at FSU Ogelsby Union Grand Ball Room
and the Moore Auditorium. The Banquet will start at 6 pm followed by
75 minutes of wonderful performance.
The food will be catered by Lucy Ho's AZU, MASA and China Delight. TAA will provide fruits, candy and
drinks. The performance will be presented by students and faculty from
local
schools such as Woodville Elementary School, Community Christian School
Choir, ballerinas from Pas de Vie (Southern Academy of Ballet Arts),
Chi-Valry and World Ballet, violinists from FSU High School and
Tallahassee Chinese School--Taiwan and much more.
Door prizes (gift cards and more) will be giveaway so does the children favorite "Hon Bao"
(cash in a red envelop), a popular tradition for many years. Dr. John
Ho and Dr. TS Wu will share the duty as the Chinese Santa.
The Grand Ball Room will be
decorated by the team from Flagler College. Members of TSA at FSU and
Salim will help the setup and serve the food. Please join us for the
wonderful evening.
Governor Crist sent his letter of his regret for
not being able to be with us on that night. But his special assistant
is scheduled to usher in the Lunar New Year for us so do Dr. Bill Law
and his wife (Pat). Several dignitaries will join us for the banquet
also.

This is the season of giving thanks for the fellowship from the local
community that we call home. On behalf of Taiwanese American
Association
of Tallahassee I would like to take a moment to reflect what we have
accomplished this year and what we can expect for the years to come.
Director General, Mr. Miguel Tsao,
of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Miami, is very supportive to
all our events this year. With his help we are able to promote
Taiwanese and Chinese cultures to the American friends in the Big Bend
area.
Ms. Michelle Yang of Overseas
Compatriot Affairs Commission, Taiwan is always there for us. During
her short tenure in her current capacity she has visited us four times.
Best wishes for her future career endeavor.
TAA also enjoys excellent
relationship with several local schools, associations, elected
